There is an old Chinese Proverb that states: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now.”
In other words, don’t wait. In my last email, I talked about the inspiring work of Dr. Diane Beresford-Kroeger. She believes that every one of us as the power to combat climate change by simply planting a tree (or trees).
The power of trees to sustain our planet is matched by their power to improve our physical and mental health. Spending time amid the trees, or “forest bathing,” can reduce the stress hormone cortisol and spur the body’s self-healing parasympathetic nervous system.
So make a commitment to head to the nursery this week—and leave your mark in the climate change battle.
