Now that the days are getting longer (finally!) and the sun is out for longer stretches every day, throw open those window shades and blinds. It’s good for you—literally!
That’s because sunlight increases the level serotonin in our bodies. Serotonin is the hormone associated with boosting our moods and helping us feel calm and focused. And exposure to the sun’s rays causes a person’s skin to create vitamin D, which strengthens our bones and can help ward off osteoporosis.
So why not sit quietly for a few moments and bathe in the sun’s warm glow. Breathe deeply and allow yourself to focus on the power of nature to transform the way we feel. In short, take a few minutes to meditate!
